BSC Swimming Carnival

Sun shining, sunscreen splattered on, the scene was set for a fantastic day at the BSC Swimming Carnival. House spirit was in the air for each House, each competing for their opportunity to take home gold.

The races started with students taking to the pool for their chance to win the Andrew Campbell Shield, Evalyn Hayward pulled away from Billy Welsh, then with one win on the board, she went on to chase her next victory, in the Janet Sturgeon Cup. Up against fierce talent such as Charlotte Sporton, Lily Peacock and Tyla Armeni, all were looking to triumph. But again, Evalyn was able to hold off Lily Peacock in a tussle, coming away with her second win. 

As the day progressed and the temperature continually rose, so did the competitive spirit between the students. Cooper Cahill and Tom Lyons, with their respectfully competitive nature, were eager to best each other in every event. Competing in many events throughout the day, both students contributed significantly to their respective houses' success.

The relays were a sight to behold, as the House Captains gathered their teams, assembling the best of the best to ensure victory for their House. It was a close race, with Wandarra taking it right down to the wire and sealing the win…this time.

Last on the day's agenda, was the annual Staff vs Students event. Starting off as a very close race, it didn't take long for the staff to pull away with the lead, coming away with the first victory of the year for the Staff vs Students competition.
