Foundation

Ms Sapardanis, Ms Lawson, Ms Achilles, Ms Walker, Ms Rodwell, Ms Oldfield and Ms Nicholas

Wow! What an exciting start for our Foundation students. Friendships are continuing to bloom and our Foundation students are becoming more confident and comfortable in their school environment. We are continuing to talk about our school values; Kindness, Respect, Learning Together and Zest in the classroom everyday. Each day we are counting up to 100 days at school! Students are already excited about the fun things we will be doing for our 100 days celebration.

Learning in Foundation

Literacy

Foundation students have had so much fun learning with our Little Learners Love Literacy program and building their knowledge of initial sounds. We have learnt about Milo monkey, Sally snake, Felix Frog and the letters m, s, and f.

Students have also been learning our Heart words and practising finding them in books we are reading as a class.

Numeracy

Students have been learning about the numbers 1-10. Students have been working on the many ways that we can show the number by making it using blocks, bundling sticks, and other materials. They have been practising writing the digit. They have also been learning about how we show the number using a tens frame, pictures, and locating the number on a number line.

Personal and Social Learning

Students have been busy learning about different emotions and how we can recognise these through facial expressions. They have been demonstrating our school values with being a kind friend and learning how to make new friends. We have also been learning about how to be a bucket filler in our classroom and talking about the ways that we can be kind and helpful to others around us.
