Parents and Friends

What is the PnF?

The Parents and Friends Committee is the fundraising and social arm of the school. The school relies heavily on fundraising from the PnF in order to upgrade school facilities. Over the past three years, money raised by the PnF has enabled us to upgrade our playground areas, including the basketball court, main playground area and imagination garden.

Beyond the fundraising, the vital role of the P&F as a social network cannot be understated. Through social events and get-togethers, the P&F creates opportunities for families to come together and build strong community relationships.

Research upon research shows that there is a direct correlation between student connectedness to school and learning outcomes. When children feel a sense of belonging to a school community, the better they are able to learn. Parental involvement in the school helps build that sense of connection and belonging.

For parents, involvement in the P&F is a great way to meet people and forge friendships, many of which will last for many many years. In order for the P&F to functions, we need parents to come along to meetings and get involved, and even to take on key roles on the P&F committee.

Our first meeting for the year will be on Tuesday 14th February at 7pm in the hall. All welcome! It's a great way to get involved, meet other parents and find out how we can help raise funds that go towards our children's education! The committee meets monthly (dates and times will be set at the first meeting), but to be involved doesn't mean having to come to every meeting! Come along on the 14th to find out how you can get involved in some way!
