Basketball Reflection

On September 14 and 21, the Junior and Intermediate Basketball Teams made their way to Boardman Stadium to complete in an Inter School Round Robin. A huge thank you goes out to Brad Collins and Roger Cini for their work with training the teams.

Year 7 Boys

The Year 7 boys put in a great effort to win all of their games in the pool and qualifying for the final. In a nail bitter, the boys lost to Gisborne by 1 point in overtime. Coach Mr Collins was impressed by the boy’s performance and see bigger things for the boys in their future.

Year 7 and 8 Girls

The Year 7 and 8 girls put in a great effort wining two of their game and losing the other. These girls have improved so much in the past year, and were grateful for the new additions of Ella and Jess to the team. Congratulations to Coaches Emily, Chelsea, and Jessica (Year 11) for putting a great effort to help get these girls game ready.

Year 8 Boys

The Year 8 boys won two games and narrowly lost their first game, missing finals. It was great to see the boys putting all the hard work from training into their game, led by Mr Cini.

Intermediate Girls

The Inter Girls team played three matches and were able to walk away with two solid victories. It was great to see the positive attitude displayed by the girls, with their 'never say die' attitude. Again, this group of girls were superbly coached by the Year 11 girls, who can’t wait to play alongside these girls as Seniors next year.

Intermediate Boys

The Inter boys’ team, unfortunately couldn’t maintain their winning streak of qualifying for the Western Metro finals. The boys were slow to warm up, losing their first game, however, easily won their other games. This group of boys has shown great teamwork and improvement in the last two years, and we can’t wait to see what next year brings.
