EAL News: MID2018

and Cultural Family Picnic

My Island Dream 2018

MID2018 is Melbourne’s biggest cultural exchange platform created for and by Pasifika youth and Vaiusu.  The aim was to bring schools from the western suburbs together to celebrate and honour diverse Pasifika backgrounds.

On the 22nd of September, our Staughton College students teamed up with Melton Secondary College to perform at this polyfest.  The sold out event was held at the Enjoy Church in Sunshine North, and was enjoyed by family and friends alike.

“Tamaiti O Le Pasifika” was led by Faustina Ma’ae, a graduate of MSC who has performed at numerous community and council events, as well as our Cultural Family Picnic.  Congratulations to all the students involved for the stellar performance!  All the hard work paid off, as your harmonisation was the best of the night and your dance was amazing. You have made all of us extremely proud.

We would like to invite everyone to our 3rd annual Cultural Family Picnic on Wednesday, the 24th of October, from 3:30 – 5:30 pm.  Bring your family, friends, and your favourite picnic blanket. We also have our Arts Showcase on the same afternoon, so make sure to check out the amazing talent on display in our multipurpose hall.
