VICSEG End of Year Celebration for Scholars

The VICSEG program (Victorian Cooperative on Children's Services for Ethnic Groups) has sponsored seven of our students from years 9 to 11. This program provides a mentor and scholarship for each student. We are very proud of all of the efforts of each student throughout the year to complete their goals.

On Friday,  the 2nd of November, VICSEG New Futures had their End of Year Celebration for all the current scholars in the program.  Ms. Rozynski and I took our scholars over to CRC Melton, this year's hosts for the event.

Adoralynn Papalii Seu presented the school, alongside her peers, Ashley Kei Hein, Roda Thangaw, Pale Masaga, Natalina Mariak, Sakir Nawaz, and Henry Lal Din Mawi.

When asked, Roda said, "It's been great for us, helping us with our education and what we need."

"The VICSEG program was good. I got more confidence and learned more skills to put together school events.  The Monday meetings were interesting, and the end of year celebration was good because we got to see what other schools put together.   I would want to do it again next year because when you set a goal and achieve it, it helps me improve my other goals in school," said Dora.

It was a wonderful celebration of all the hard work the students have done throughout the year.  One of their milestones was to organize or participate in extra-curricular activities, and this year, they helped organize and performed in our Cultural Diversity Week, Samoan Language Week, Africa Day, World Refugee Day, and Cultural Family Picnic.  Congratulations to all involved!
