Twilight Carnival

The Twilight Carnival will be held on Friday, 15th of November. This is a great community event which we all look forward to as an opportunity to connect and enjoy an array of exciting rides while eating some tasty food. The event also includes craft markets, contests and challenges for all ages. More information is available within this newsletter.

SunSmart

As a key part of our SunSmart Policy all students are required to wear a suitable uniform hat throughout Term 4 and in Term 1 each year. I have explained to all students that we have this requirement as the UV radiation is dangerous to our skin in spring, summer and autumn regardless of the cloud cover. All students should have their name on their hat and make sure that it is left in their school bag or their tub so that they can wear it while playing outside. No Hat - No Play.

Student Fees and Student Stationery

This year we will be moving to a new arrangement and timing for the collection of Student Fees. Next week the notices will be sent to parents with the details for the payment of the 2020 contributions with the added advantage of an Early Bird Special.

Student Stationery will be available for collection in individual packs for each student during December this year. These changes are aimed streamlining the collection of Student Fees while allowing the students to receive their stationery ready for covering and labelling at home over the school holidays.

Changes for the Start of the Prep School Year

The Preps will not have the early Wednesdays off next year. Instead the Preps will begin school on the sixth day of the school year. All Early Years Literacy and Numeracy testing will be completed during the first five days on a one to one basis. Each family will have an individual appointment. Student performance data can then be used to help teachers accurately target their teaching to the needs of each individual student.

Student Property

All student property must be labelled to ensure that everyone can look after their belongings. Please label all clothing, hats, lunchboxes, drink bottles and thermoses with the student’s name. This will avoid people accidentally taking home things which belong to others. Please check all of the listed items you have at home and kindly return things belonging to others.
