As we edge closer to the completion of 2019 it is important that students finish off work and make the most of the remaining few weeks. These opportunities will not be available to students in the future and everyone wishes to finish on a positive note and with as many qualifications completed as possible. Students should also discuss options post school with farm trainers and myself so they can make good choices in both the short and long terms for their future.
Competition
On the competition front we have Farm Skills, Narrogin Equine Challenge and the Perth Royal Show fast approaching. Considerable time is taken to train students and make them as competitive as possible for these events but that can come at the cost of the daily farm curriculum. My role is to carefully balance the qualifications delivered here with the external competitions we attend to ensure all students are achieving at their full potential in all areas.
Farm Survey
In the coming weeks I will be sending home a survey to students and parents that would help me in my planning of our training environment. In consultation with Mr Geoff Howell we will be looking at aspects of our training, enterprises and rosters as we endeavour to improve the educational environment for all students. There are many surveys distributed at this time of the year and without this feedback we cannot improve across many areas.
As always, take care and enjoy the last few weeks either as students or parents.
