Year 12 Students

Year 12 students are reminded that they have very limited class time remaining. They should be using this time to really put the effort into their school work to ensure they successfully graduate from the College. Students need to ensure they remain focused until the very end as a poor result in an assessment can greatly affect their progress in the subject. Students should be having regular conversations with their teachers to ensure that they are progressing towards the grades they need to achieve graduation.

Year 12 General Assessments

It is critical that students maintain excellent attendance and focus in all their class subjects. For students in the General pathway, tests and assessments dates will vary between different subjects. Students will however have a significant number of assessments due during Week 10 of Term 3. This will include their final class day. It is critical that students are at school to sit these assessments.

C-Wise

The Year 10 students recently visited C-Wise, a composting business based near Mandurah. They were lucky to see first-hand how WA farmers and gardeners can benefit production, as well as become more eco-friendly. Students study these principles as part of Animal and Plant Production Systems classes.

Year 12 ATAR Students

Mock Exams: Exam week for the Year 12 ATAR commences Friday 20th September and concludes Thursday 26th September. To maximise achievement in these exams, students should be regularly revising class work and completing previous examination papers as practice, in addition to their normal set homework.

Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) applications: This is an important time of the year for our Year 12 ATAR students applying for tertiary courses. Students have until Monday, 30th September to submit online, their TISC applications preferences (an additional late fee will be applied after this).

Medical Certificates

It is important that if students are ill and cannot attend school that a Medical Certificate is provided, as this allows us to modify the assessment requirements (e.g. to allow them to sit a missed test upon their return). Thank you to parents who have recently forwarded Medical Certificates to cover student’s absence, it is a reflection on the value you place in your child’s education.

Communication

If parents have concerns or require subject specific information please start by contacting your child’s teacher in that area. Please feel free to contact me at the College on 9782 2100 or via email  with any queries or concerns in regards to the above matters or your child’s progress.
