Invitation Week Year 12

Year 12 students are invited to complete any outstanding work in week 1 and 2 of next term. Students should have completed an Invitation Week Form and handed it to the front office.

Muresk/Dowerin

All Year 11 students visited Muresk Institute and undertook a taster course to highlight potential post school options available in the agricultural industries.  The next day they attended the Dowerin Machinery Field Day (the States Premier Machinery Field Day) to observe current trends and emerging technologies in agriculture and supported the College fencing team competing at the Dowerin Field Day.

The students stayed two nights at the Muresk campus before travelling to Narrogin to view broad acre farming, followed by lunch and a tour of  Narrogin Ag College.

2020 School Captain & Leaders

Year 12 students for 2020 are reminded that the selections for Student Councillor will be done at the start of next term. A separate process will be held  for the Captain and Vice-Captain of the College.  Any Year 12 for 2020, elected to the Student Council is eligible to apply in writing and be invited to attend a selection panel.

Work Experience

During Term 4, all Year 10 students at WA College of Agriculture Harvey will be required to participate in the Work Experience Program. The program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to learn and develop some of the many skills they need for employment.

The Work Experience Program will take place in the last two weeks of Term 4 2019, that being: Week 9: Monday 9th – Friday 13th December AND   (OPTIONAL) Week 10: Monday 16th – Thursday 19th December.

Students and parents are responsible for sourcing the Work Experience placements and this can be done either as one placement for Week 9 only; a full fortnight placement; or two separate 1 week placements. Students are encouraged not to use family businesses or previous work placement.

Application forms need to be returned to Mrs Jodi Baggetta at the College by Friday 18th October 2019 or emailed to: Jodi.Baggetta@education.wa.edu.au

R U Ok? Day 12th September

Got a niggling feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.

By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not ok, you can follow our conversation steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.
