At the beginning of the year the Year 12s were all saying ‘can’t wait to get out of here, but it’s so far off’. Well guess what, it is nearly here, with twelve years of your education coming to the end. Please take time to assess and consider how to handle the next few weeks.  As humans we will remember the last period of time we see you constantly and we would really like to remember you all being fantastic, mature young men and women.

After Hours Vistors

Jono Prosser organised the “Green Team” to come and speak with our Year 12s about Leavers, what they do at Leavers and most importantly not to be scared to ask them for help if you need it.

We were lucky to have Jess Semark attended the College to talk to the Year 10 & 11s as part of the PBF’s (Protection, Prevention and Support) Road & Youth Program sponsored by the RAC.  Jess talked to the students about an accident that resulted in her being confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of her life. She was very frank in her summary and explained the life changing impact one poor decision had on her life.

On Wednesday we had the pleasure of having the local Harvey Police coming out to talk once again, to our Year 12s about Leavers.  Talking about what to expect and to answer any questions students may have about Leavers 2019.

Next Monday evening we have Peter Lyndon-James, the founder of Shalom House in Perth. Peter will share the story of his childhood and how his early decisions impacted majorly his life. Knowing right from wrong and making the right choices, overcoming adversity, not being a victim of circumstances and creating a better future for you.

This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from a man who has not only changed his life around dramatically, but also the countless lives of  other people.

All students and their parents are welcome to attend from 6.30pm in the gymnasium.  Please RSVP by Friday lunchtime if you would like to attend.

Year 12 Exit

Next week we will have a booking sheet out where the Year 12 Boarding students can book a time to have their rooms checked off prior to departing for the next chapter in their lives, please see Mr Murnane.  All Day students are to see Ms Stringer to organise the process of being signed off.  Both day and boarding students must be cleared from their respective areas prior to being signed off from the College.

REACH

Just a quick reminder to please ensure Weekend/Day Leaves are accurate.  I make no apology for Residential staff ringing parents/guardians when students are late returning.   This is important when so many of our students are self driving.

Also please note our 'Duty of Care' requires us to hear from a responsible adult if a change to leave is required.   Please work with us on this, as we don’t want to be forced into requiring a new leave to be generated for any/all leave changes.
