Level 3/4

As we enter the final week of term one in level 3 and 4 the students are presenting their celebration projects. The students that have presented so far have done a fantastic job showcasing a celebration from around the world, this unit has tied in very well with Harmony day which the entire school celebrated on Thursday the 21st of March. Most students dressed in traditional costume or in the colour orange on the day. The Big munch in level 3 and 4 was a great success with so much delicious food on offer. Thanks again to the parents who were involved in sending food in, bringing hot food on the day and those that helped set up and clean up.

In week 9 the students participated in the school cross country, it was fantastic to see such a high level of involvement from the students, parents and teachers, a special thank you to Mr Sacchetta for organising and running such a terrific day. Congratulations to all the students in level 4 who finished in the top 8 on the day and made it into district cross country, more information will be given to you about the next stage of competition over the next few weeks.

Level 4’s have been focusing on persuasive writing with collaborative conclusions, sizzling starts being a main focus. The students have been writing on topics such as ‘Save our school crossings’ ‘all children should be getting pocket money’ and ‘all children should play sport outside of school’. We are seeing some fantastic writing and can’t wait to watch the improvement as the year progresses.

L3 Woolworths Discovery Excursion

On Thursday the 28th of March, Grade 3L and 3B went on a terrific excursion to Woolworths, located at Brentford Square in Vermont on Canterbury Road. We had 5 extremely lovely mothers who went on the trip with my grade, 3L. At Woolworths, we discovered where all the food is stored and got our own fruit. It was amazing! By Samuel

Yesterday, we had an excursion to Woolworths. We walked there and it took about half an hour. We learnt about lots of food and how people make it. Then we got to go to the back of the milk section. There was a fridge room, a freezer room and a room where they chop food like pumpkin. We got to have a free piece of fruit at the end. I chose an apple. We also got an activity book about eating healthy. By Ava
