Junior swimmers make a splash

Congratulations to all Year 3–6 students who participated in the Junior School Swimming Carnival at the Clarence YMCA Aquatic Centre on Thursday 13 February.

There was a great deal of colour, camaraderie and House spirit on display as students cheered each other on from the sidelines and chanted their House anthems with enthusiasm and pride.

The spirit continued in the water, with some impressive performances from our students as they raced across the pool.

Well done to all competitors on their efforts and a special thank you to all staff, students and parents who assisted with various aspects of the carnival.

Rowers take on Regatta challenge

Well done to all rowers who bravely took on the cool waters of the Franklin while competing in the recent Southern Schools Regatta (15–16 February).

All rowers put on a strong team performance and should be commended for their efforts during the two-day event.

Congratulations to our students who came second in the Open Eight and Under 16 Eight — these are fantastic results!

Rowing Cocktail Party and Silent Auction Fundraiser

Current and past supporters of the SMC/SVC/GYC Rowing Club are warmly invited to attend the club's third annual cocktail party, which will be held on Saturday 7 March from 7.30pm at the New Town Bay Rowing Centre.

It's set to be a fantastic night out that will include entertainment, delicious canapes and a silent auction fundraiser, with some exciting prizes up for grabs.

Tickets are $35 per person (which includes a free drink on arrival), with all proceeds from the event going towards the purchase and maintenance of rowing boats, safety equipment and club facilities.

All rowers and non-rowers are very welcome to come along, but please note this is an adults-only celebration.
