Reminder: Parent Information Evening
The Parent Information Evening for Year 7 and new Senior School Parents will be held tonight in the Mary Morgan Wing from 6.00pm–7.00pm.
Following the session, families are encouraged to stick around to enjoy a drink and a barbecue on the College Green, compliments of the Parents and Friends' Association.
Be sure to pack an umbrella and some extra warm clothes for the evening in case the weather changes!

We warmly invite all current and prospective parents and students to our Open Day on Thursday 2 April 2020.
Take a tour and see what we get up to on a regular day at the College.

Scooter Day fun
Scoot, scoot! Scooter Day at St Mary's College is just around the corner.
Prep to Year 6 students are being encouraged to bring their scooters and helmets to school on Friday 28 February for a day of healthy fun with their friends.
To participate, students are asked to bring a gold coin donation to help support the St Vincent de Paul Bushfire Appeal.

Calling for Expressions of Interest – St Mary's College Board
Expressions of interest for the position of Board Member are now being invited. The Board is looking to appoint two new Board Members who will play an integral role on the Board.
The Board plays an important role in providing sound governance to the College and supporting the Principal through providing strategic advice with respect to:
• Ensuring the school’s Vision guides all areas of school life.
• Supporting the development of the Catholic identity, ethos and mission of the school.
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of proposals for the school’s strategic direction, including: finances, buildings and other resources for the recurrent and long-term effective operations of the school (a background in financial management is desirable).
• Formulating local policy for the conduct of the school in consultation with the staff, parents, students and volunteers of the school.
• Overseeing the implementation of the Catholic Education Commission Tasmania (CECT) policy.
• Supporting the Principal and the Director of Business and Operations.
Meetings are held on a monthly basis on Monday evenings from 4.30pm to approximately 6.30pm (eight meetings per year).
The appointment is for an initial three-year term. Board members can serve a maximum of two terms. The position would commence in Term 2.
Expressions of interest should be forwarded to the Principal principal@smc.tas.edu.au by Friday 20 March 2020 and must include a current Curriculum Vitae outlining your interest in the role and your skills, attributes and experiences that could support the College in its mission of providing Catholic education in the Presentation tradition.

Uniform Shop
Pop in and see us at the St Mary's College Uniform Shop!
The St Mary’s College Uniform Shop is located just off the Brisbane Street entrance to the school and is managed by Midford.
Throughout the school term, the shop is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.00am–4.00pm.
