Wellbeing News
Well it's nearly the end of term and what a busy one it has been. We have had lots of interesting things happen this term like the yummy soup lunches, House Spirit Day, Ocean Day, and delicious afternoon teas. But have you ever wondered why some of your children come home on a Tuesday with interesting crafts? Well, you can thank Maree Strong for that. She is a volunteer Parish member who works at five different schools in our cluster. She also organises an afternoon drop in club for families at St Joseph’s and St Mary’s, as well as, playgroups and baptism groups. Every Tuesday, our multipurpose room is full of children playing games, dancing, making interesting creatures with playdough, balloon animals or just paper crafts. Maree donates all the crafts and sets up all the different activities. We have older children come and help Mrs Strong with the crafts and cutting up the apples and giving out water. This becomes another wonderful space for any child that needs a break from the busy playground. We have volunteer teachers that come and help Mrs Strong manage the large number of children that make use of the craft club. If you have any wool, papers or boxes you would like to donate please bring them in on a Tuesday and I can pass them on to Maree.
This will be my last newsletter for a few weeks as I am off on long service leave and won't be back until Week 3 Term 3. I hope everyone in the St Brendan's community has a safe and happy break.
Yours in health and wellbeing
