College Student Diary 2022

As we begin planning for the 2022 school year, our Student Leadership Team elect are currently working on their Strategic Plans and themes for the year. On that note they would like to include more student input in the College Student Diary and would welcome your ideas.

Please send any ideas or feedback for consideration to: sbrannan@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au

2022 Student Leadership Team and Year 6 Class Captains

It was great to have the Year 11 Mission and Identity Prefects elect: Nathan McAdam, Andrew Guerrera and Andrew McKinnon lead us in Father’s Day Prayer at last Friday’s Assembly and they were well supported by Year 6 Class Captains: Changze Li, Simon Ellis, Noah Beauchat and Liam Spatola.

RUOK? Day

This Friday's Assembly will see Wellbeing Student Leaders Elect Alex Hawkins, James Shahinian and Franklin Clayton join the Year 12 Student Empowerment and Leadership Teams lead us in RUOK? Day. They will join good friend of the College Gus Worland from Gotcha4Life (and 2MMM Dead Set Legends Program) in promoting an important message of supporting everyone in our community in their Mental Health and Fitness atthis time.

Jersey Day

On Friday we also celebrate Jersey Day when students and staff are invited to wear their favourite Jersey to Assembly and lessons in support of Organ Donation. We support this important message in honour of Year 12 student Tom Van Dijk who was a passionate advocate for organ donation.

Vale Tom Van Dijk.

Paralympics

We will close our RUOK? Day Assembly with a message of hope from the Paralympics. What great examples of demonstrating resilience to overcome adversity for all of us.

Supporting Children with Anxiety and Connecting and Engaging in Online Lessons

Tonight (Wednesday 8 September) there are two seminars which our Pastoral Care, Wellbeing and Counselling Teams are advocating;

  • At 7.30 pm Dr Justin Coulson will present a seminar to which the College has subscribed.  It can be accessed tonight live or over the next two weeks via the link:

  • Members of our staff and wellbeing teams will join a Gotcha4Life session for teachers which is aimed at engaging and supporting student learning online.

Our hope is to include aspects of both the Gotcha4Life programs and REACH Foundation activities in our whole school Pastoral Care programs in Term 4.
