Prayer

PRAYER FOR THOMAS VAN DIJK

God, Our Father, we remember in prayer

Thomas Van Dijk whom we love,

And will always have a special place in our hearts

But is no longer here with us.

We give thanks, Lord, for the times

We have shared together.

Comfort us through the memories of Tom.

May they give us courage

For our journey into the future.

Grant Tom a place of peace and joy in your Kingdom

where there is no more suffering and no more grief.

Hold Tom in Your loving embrace

And may we be reunited one day in eternal happiness.

May perpetual light shine upon Tom,

May he rest in peace.

Year 12 HSC Examinations

The HSC Examinations have been set down by the NSW Government to commence on Tuesday 9 November. The HSC Timetable is due for release today from NESA.

St Pius X College has surveyed its HSC Year 12 and Year 11 Accelerant parents and students and it has been decided now that these examinations will be conducted at the Oxford Falls campus.

More details will be issued directly to HSC students and their parents.

Year 11 End of Year Examinations and Assessments

Year 11 commenced their end of year examinations and assessments this week.  While these exams are of a different format and may present challenges to the students, the Year 11 cohort has taken on this task exceptionally well, with the knowledge that their hard work will put them in good stead for their final year of schooling.  These examinations will continue throughout this week and next.

RUOK? Day and Jersey Day - Friday 10 September

This Friday 10 September, the College will mark RUOK? Day with a special Assembly in the morning. Our special guest will be radio and TV personality Gus Worland. Parents are welcome to join us using the following link: https://youtu.be/43MlYqjN0PE.

We also make this our Jersey Day and students and staff are encouraged to wear their favourite jersey to promote conversations about Organ Donation.

Year 7 and 8 'Click and Collect' Days

Next week, the College is asking Year 7 and 8 students to come to the school to empty their lockers and collect any learning materials that they require. This will allow the College to prepare B Wing for refurbishment during Term 4.

This will be done in accordance with the COVID-19 protocols in place and according to the following schedule.

Year 7 will collect all gear and equipment on Tuesday 15 September and Year 8 on Wednesday 16 September. The respective Year Coordinators, Mr Steinman and Mr Virgona, will email each student and family the specific time for each student’s Home Room to come into the College to complete this process.

Last Day of Classes for Term 3

The last day for classes for this term will be held on Thursday 16 September, concluding with a Year Assembly for each of Years 7 - 12 and a Junior School Assembly in Period 4.

Students Leaving the College at the end of the year

As the end of term approaches, parents are reminded that if you are considering a change of schools at the end of the year you are welcome to contact me at the College through my PA, Mrs Ann Brady abrady@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au or phone 9414 4312.

I am very open to discussing any private and confidential matters. The College does provide financial support for school fees and parents are welcome to contact me or the Business Manager, Mr Nick Carson ncarson@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au  or phone  9411 4733.

You are also welcome to contact the College Registrar to discuss any enrolment matters: cjennings@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au.

It is the policy of the College that a term’s notice should be given in writing to the Principal if there is a change of schools. If notice is not given, a term’s fees in lieu of notice will be levied.  I ask any parents considering a change to make contact with the College.
