COVID- 19 Vaccination Roll out for Victorians 12 and older

As part of the COVID-19 vaccination roll-out, from Monday 13 September, all Victorians aged 12 and older are eligible to book and receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a state vaccination centre, a Commonwealth vaccination centre, or through a GP clinic, pharmacy or community health service.Information regarding the booking process and other details are included in the attached letter from Dr David Howes, Deputy Secretary of Schools and Regional Services. This information is also outlined in a live webinar for young people to provide information on COVID-19 vaccines and how to support their mental health. The free webinar is on Tuesday 14 September, from 6pm to 7pm. Registration is via this link. Topics will include:

  • vaccine development and safety
  • accessing and consenting to a vaccination
  • how to book an appointment
  • supporting your mental health
  • question and answer session with the panel.

Uniform    

There will be a two week changeover period at the beginning of Term 4 to allow for weather variations. Note that students are not permitted to combine winter and summer uniforms.

  • Ties - are now optional (approved by College Council, June 2021).  If students choose to wear the tie, it must be worn with the top button of the shirt done up and the tie pushed right up to the top button
  • Blazer - worn to and from school and period 1. Year 12 students may wear the approved Year 12 jumper/ jacket as an alternative to the College blazer in Terms 1 to 4.  Note - when it is raining the PE spray jacket may be worn over the blazer to and from school if raining.
  • Shorts/Trousers - Koonung regulation grey shorts or trousers
  • Jumper - Koonung pullover - blue-Middle School- Years 7-9; maroon-Senior School- Years 10-12
  • Shirt - short sleeve with logo (untucked). A plain white, short sleeve undergarment may be worn and tucked in.
  • Shirt/blouse - long sleeve must be tucked in. A plain white, short sleeve undergarment may be worn and tucked in.
  • PE Uniform - Koonung PE/Sports shorts, Koonung PE shirt (a plain white, short sleeve undergarment may be worn and tucked in), Koonung PE track pants, Koonung PE rugby top and Koonung PE spray jacket
  • Shoes for academic uniform - Black lace-up leather, flat business shoes (Oxford style) ONLYThe following shoes are not acceptable - Black suede shoes, T-bars, ballet shoes, soft leather shoes, skate shoes, shoes with zippers, slip-on shoes, boots and any kind of runners including black leather runners.
  • Socks - plain white socks (that reach mid-calf) for shorts; Black socks that reach mid-calf if wearing long trousers
  • Summer dress - Koonung regulation gingham dress (between knee length and no more than 6 cms above the knee) with mid-calf white socks
  • Hair Style/Colour - Hair style and colour is to be unremarkable. Extreme hair colours, e.g. green, pink or purple rinses, and/or extreme hairstyles, e.g. spikes or Mohawks, are not permitted

Students who are unable to be in complete uniform on any given day must bring a note to their appropriate sub school administrator explaining the reason. The sub school administrator will record the uniform pass on Compass and these should be obtained prior to their first scheduled class for the school day.
