ROOM 14

Room 14 are doing the best we can during another lengthy period of R&FL. We have some students onsite we have some learning from home. Learning from home utilises a lot of Seesaw and some individual work sessions via WebEX.

After the first semester room 14 have built some solid friendships. This has been showcased by how happy they are too see each other during whole group Web Ex sessions. 

Middle Years Sub School News

Middle years have been busy at home and at school. Students have been accessing learning through Seesaw, WebEx, email and work books. There have been lots of fantastic Seesaw posts with interactive games, work tasks, songs and activities. WebEx sessions have been looking fun. Students have taken part in wellbeing activities when teachers check in to make sure everyone is going well. Some teachers have been using reading programs such as Sunshine Online, Sunshine Classics or Reading Eggs during WebEx sessions to make engaging literacy sessions on WebEx. 

Students at school have been joining class WebEx sessions with students at school to make sure everyone is still seeing each other. Out in the playground students have been playing on the equipment, trampolines and bikes to keep active. On colder days students are making use of the OT room, climbing room and dancing to Just Dance on YouTube. Students at home have also been getting active by dancing. Room 14 and 15 did a combined WebEx session today where students at home and at school were able to have dance together. It’s great to see everyone having so much fun and learning together. 

With spring just around the corner it’s a great time to get out in the garden and do some gardening. Our students enjoy the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program. Now is a great time to plant up some vegetables to grow in the garden. Students learnt about the importance of bees in the garden, so get some flower seedlings planted to attract some bees to your yard. The bees are important for pollinating our plants and vegetables. Have a look at making a bee hotel or a bee drinking dish online. These are great things to make with your kids at home. 

We are looking forward to seeing each other again but until then stay safe.
