Writing For The Screen Secondary Workshop
ACMI – the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.
Congratulations to the following students for their participation in the WRITING FOR THE SCREEN SECONDARY Workshop at the end of last year
Jamie Muzoski, Lucas Michielin, Frances Uybaretta, Jessica Ristevski, Makayla Surbevski, Ella Fawcett, Roman Lal, Chryssa McNeill, Lincoln Sindoni and Holly Sposato
The above named students achieved a place in the Writer’s Workshop based on their high ability in writing. They undertook a day of activities that supported their understanding of how to develop written scripts that can be filmed and screened in a variety of venues.
Mr Connor O’Leary supervised the day of workshops
The students and I were lucky enough to attend ACMI’s Writing for the Screen workshop, where we all had an absolute blast. The workshop focused on developing a premise for a story, enhancing characters through adding detail and structuring the story itself – as well as adding one-liners and a synopsis of the story. I couldn't wait to read their script samples when they finished them!
The following are comments from some of our participants about their learning experience;
I just wanted to say thank you for giving me this opportunity to attend this ACMI Writer’s Workshop. I found this workshop informative and engaging. The information and advice given has been very useful and I will definitely use them for future planning for narratives and stories. I would recommend others to participate in this program if given the opportunity. 😊

Thank you so much for allowing me to attend the ACMI Writing Program. It was very interesting and informative, and it taught me a lot about how to properly plan, structure and elaborate on an idea/prompt. It also taught me a lot about scripts, pitches and why they are important, and I feel that I can definitely use this knowledge to help me in the future. Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity.

These students can be congratulated on their participation in this program which was conducted remotely. We were able to continue student involvement with ACMI despite the original excursion needing to be changed to an online format.
