Vale Kathy Partridge

Vale Kathleen Partridge
On Thursday we woke up to the news that Alumni Kathleen (Kathy) Partridge had
passed away at the age of 57. Many staff and alumni knew Kathy well and her passing is a huge loss to the O'Connor, Armidale and wider Hockey Community.

Kathy attended O'Connor Catholic High School from 1976-1981 and was involved in playing and coaching hockey through some of those years. She was was a dual Olympian and member of the Hockey Australia Hall of Fame to which she was inducted in 2018. Kathy was the goalkeeper in the Hockeyroos team that won Olympic gold in 1988 and the 1991 Champions Trophy. Kathy went on to play an important role in coaching at a national level. Harris Park has a field named in her honour.
Hockey Australia responded to the announcement of her death on their website on Wednesday and on the following day, the 1988 Hockeyroos team put together this fitting tribute together for the Hockey Australia to publish.
Our prayers are with Kathy's family and our deepest sympathy.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.
~Amen~
