School Captains

Sasha & Kyle

We are both very honoured to be voted the School Captains for 2017.

We would like to thank the teachers and students for giving us this opportunity, and would like to say that we look forward to working with you all in the coming year.

We plan to work very closely with any and all students interested in making a difference to the school.  Your ideas, values and skills are important to us, and we will do our best to represent the school and its students.

As your school captains we will be more than happy to listen to any concerns or considerations that you have, alongside trying to make what you want a reality.

2017 will be a fantastic year for all of us, and we can’t wait to help make your Brunswick experience the best it can be. Thank you.

Student Leadership Camp

The SRC Executive participated in a leadership camp early in the term.

This event gives student the opportunity to get to know each other better, to map a path for 2017 and to build their teamwork skills.

The team participated in a number of challenging activities and games and enjoyed the chance to discuss the year ahead and the objectives of the Executive team.

The camp was so good this year. We went to the Summit Camp  where we undertook a wide range of activities that were challenging to us both individually and as a group.

The camp instructors taught us to set our goals and then challenge those goals - using what they call "the stretch method". It works by you setting a goal that you believe is achievable, and then soming up with a goal that is slightly harder or maybe out of your comfort zone. An example of this is if you went on the giant swing your first goal might be to take the swing to half-way up, but your stretch goal may be to be taken to the top of the swing.

My favourite activity we took part in was abseiling. I think the camp is a really great way to get to know the other captains that you will be working with for the year. As captains, we accomplished a lot on the camp, and I can't wait to spend the rest of the year working with the team.
