Acting Head of Campus - Arlington

Anthology Week 2016

As promised and highly anticipated, Cal and Zelda have reappeared to guide and inspire all of our Arlington students in our annual week of creative expression through words and drawings.

This year it is taking place in the 8s & 9s room and features the customary tools required for such endeavours - reams of paper, mountains of fountain pens, graphite pencils, charcoal, textas, laptops, tables and clipboards to help ground the ideas and creations of the Arlington students across the school.

During Anthology Week, students are tasked with the duty of expressing themselves and sharing their talents and is a rare opportunity to delve headlong into the creative pursuit of their choosing. This is all part of the Preshil tradition of offering children the opportunity to choose 'special projects'.

The impact this has on student engagement and motivation is evident as students are engaged in the important work of crafting their selected stories and creative endeavours. The Anthology is also an opportunity to share this work with others, if they feel confident to do so, and it is wonderful to see some of our youngest students courageously sharing their learning with the older students as they stand before them and present.

Should you have any spare time on Friday 28 October, some of our students would greatly appreciate your support by scribing their amazing ideas.

Doo Dah 'Reboot'

Doo Dah Day has overgone many incarnations over recent years and I would like to invite anyone who would like to have input into the future direction of the event to attend a discussion on Thursday 3 November at 9am, in the Sitting Room. Please note that your attendance at the meeting does not necessarily mean you will be in the organising party for future Doo Dahs.

Staying 'Sunsmart'

Thank you to those parents who have ensured their child has a suitable hat to wear outside. We have a limited supply available for purchase at the office, should you require one at short notice.
