YEAH Adolescent Support Group

(Youth Empowerment And Help) at Fernhills Clinic, 347 Scoresby Road, Ferntree Gully.  Are you aged between 15 and 20 y.o.? Whether you’re working or studying or not sure what to do next, you are wanted for supporting others and being supported. There are 6 topics in 7 weekly sessions. Be helped and empowered by Helen and others around the same age and stage of life. We will talk about identity, anxiety, self-esteem, anger, stress, communication and relationships in a serious way and a fun way. Thursdays 5:15pm-6:45pm. GP referral and booking are essential. Call 9758 4144 before October 26 for a place. Group begins on November 3 and ends on December 15. Cost: $98 ($14 per session) or $49 with HCC ($7 per session)

 

#RewriteYourStory

You can’t undo the past, and you can’t change the actions or words of other people, but you can Rewrite Your Story. Rewrite Your Story is a youth-focussed program which explores cyberbullying and features real-life cyberbullying stories, alongside advice and support about how to handle it. The program also provides detailed, and essential, information about how to report serious cyberbullying to the Office when required. Rewrite Your Story is designed to empower young people to be courageous in the face of cyberbullying, guide them when they need, and help them to support their friends. Rewrite Your Story will launch via a live stream on Facebook @ 11am AEST on 12 October. The Friends of Zainab scholarship

The Friends of Zainab scholarship is offered to help support students with a refugee background through the critical years of their High School Certificate. Yarra Ranges – Youth Counselling Services

Yarra Ranges Youth Services offers free counselling for young people, and their families, aged 12–25, who live, work or go to school in the Yarra Ranges. The service provides generalist counselling of up to 12 sessions. Counselling provides young people with the opportunity to discuss and receive support on issues or concerns that may be affecting their lives in a safe and supportive environment. Counselling and support can be accessed at various locations across the council area including, Lilydale, Yarra Junction, Healesville and Belgrave. The Counselling Program employs the ‘No Wrong Door’ philosophy which offers all young people (and their families) assistance to access the most appropriate specialist service available, even if that service is not ours. To make a referral please contact the intake worker on 9294 6716. YARRA RANGES YOUTH COUNSELLING SERVICE216–218 Main Street, Lilydale VIC 3140 . Carer Wellbeing Group: Yoga

Erika comes from a Hatha/Vinyasa tradition and bases her classes on Patanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga. Her classes are powerful and challenging yet nourishing. Wellways MI Recovery

We are taking expressions of interest for MI Recovery for Term 4. MI Recovery is a peer education program developed for and by people with a lived experience of mental illness. Growing Stronger Together – Art Therapy – EACH

The Growing Stronger Together program strengthens the connection between parent and child. Parents can learn new ways of interacting with their child in a creative way. Family art therapy provides a space to be creative, playful and expressive together. Spend time building on the relationship with your child by engaging in fun activities. No art experience required. Rebound – EACH  

EACH Youth and Family team in collaboration with the Victoria Police would like to introduce the Rebound program. Rebound aims to intervene early for young people who are experiencing (or re-creating) instability in multiple environments (family, the justice system, education, housing, peers etc). We utilize Creative, Educational and Wilderness techniques to deliver content which encompasses: Positive choice making, Building respectful and positive relationships, Identity, Emotion management, Peers and family relationships. Day activities may include rock climbing, canoeing, caving, high ropes and obstacle courses, with a possible follow up camp at the completion of the 8 sessions. Who: *Family conflict or instability * Has come in to, or has the potential to come into, contact with the police * 13-15 years old with a willingness to change.
