Victorian Young Leaders to China Program

Hello from China
Ten students from Wantirna College headed off to China as part of a group of 69 students and 10 staff. The program is called the Victorian Young Leaders to China Program and is a joint initiative of the Victorian Department of Education and Training and the Chinese Government. Students have currently spent two weeks in Beijing studying at the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). Here we undertook intensive language program and culture classes to increase our abilities and understanding these areas. As well these classes we've visited a number of the tourist attractions such as The Great Wall, The Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, The Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
We have really enjoyed and been fascinated at everything so far, as can be seen in the pictures. Yesterday we bid farewell to the wonderful staff at BLCU and have flown down to Shanghai. The only hiccup was a four hour delay due to the weather in Shanghai following a Typhoon going through a few days ago. We have begun classes here and are looking forward to the next four weeks.
Will report in again next week.
