During the past week the Year 12 Drama students presented their Ensemble Performance SACs to audiences. The students have been working on these pieces throughout the entire semester and have finally been able to show off their hard work. The stimulus material for the performances was the Benjamin Franklin quote, “Lost time is never found again”. A major component of the task was to plan and organize lighting, sound, sets, costumes and multi-media.
The students performed their pieces on both Wednesday and Thursday nights to audiences of family, friends, staff and fellow students. To quote one of the students, “It’s about time that we finally get to perform it. Yeah cool!” I apologise to those of you who noticed the student’s pun about time!!!!!
The Music Department has also been flat out with students performing at several major events. Also on Wednesday and Thursday, a group of Music students travelled into Federation Square to perform at the ACC Art and Technology exhibition. They provided background music for the opening of the event on Wednesday night and the Chamber Strings performed on the main stage. On Thursday, the VCE Performance students performed to the public at the venue.
The VCE Music group will be performing at the Script @ The Count’s at Monash University. This is a jazz club and the boys will put on a funky jazz performance for the public to enjoy. Details about this event will be sent out to the families of the boys participating.
