In Art this term,  the students have been focusing on researching different Australian Artists. The students researched Ken Done, Frederick McCubbin, Pro Hart and Sidney Nolan. Here is a selection of their favourite paintings, and why they like them so much. 

Trinity- I like the Sydney night by Ken Done because it is colourful and interesting. All of the things in the picture look so realistic. Here is an image of it:

 Madeline - I like the Artists Footsteps painting by Fredrick McCubin because it is very simple but yet tells a story. I like the use of colour and how even just adding a person or another feature to the landscape makes it stand out.

Leilani- I like this painting by Ken Done because I love the Ocean and the coral is so realistic.

Presley - I like this painting called Footballer by Sidney Nolan because I am a  big football fan.

Ruby → I like it because of the colours Frederick McCubbin used

Gianni

I love The Old Garden done by Frederick McCubbin. The attention to detail is amazing, this art has beautiful coloring. I love nature and how it is shown in this piece. It is a piece of art that catches my eye straight away.

Maeve - I like this piece by Ken Done because there is a lot of 

colour and Ken Done used a famous Australian building.

Nolan’s art because he bases his

paintings on true things.

Hart because of how he made it on the carpet ad.

Samuel 

I like Fredrick McCubbin’s art style

because all his paintings are very detailed. For example, in the Pioneer

he added lots of detail for the trees

and the forest floor.

Mila 

I like these paintings by Frederick McCubbin.

They tell a story, and everyone sees the ending differently.

I love Sidney Nolan's paintings.

In this painting of Ned Kelly, I like the

contrast of the colours and the

simplicity of the image.  

Luke 

I like Ken Done’s art because there are lots of colours in his art and I like that.

James 

I like Sidney Nolan because I think he is a good artist and I like Ned Kelly.

Patrick 

I like Ken Done because he is  creative, colourful and unreal. 

Jacob 

I like how Ken Done’s paintings are  very colorful and bright, and also

very creative.  

Alexandria 

I like how Fredrick McCubbin paintings are about nature and how they tell a story. It has a lot of detail and it tells what is happening.

Noah: I like that he has stuck with this popular character, instead of a bunch of different people. 

Sidney Nolan

Miles  

I like how in Sidney Nolan's paintings it’s

quite simple and the story is easy to tell, also how a lot of his paintings are of an

Aussie Legend.

Tigger

I love Ken Done’s painting because it’s colourful and so creative.

Max - Sidney Nolan

I love Sidney Nolan’s because of the armour which is a kind of mask which is his signature.

Mr Mullavey

Mrs Mullins thinks Mr Mullavey would like this one. 

Miss Grisinski 

I love this painting by Sidney Nolan of Ned Kelly. I really like how it represents the Australian Landscape. 

Wonder Recycling. 

UPDATE: We are now collecting bread tags as well. See the new box in the office foyer.

Hi everyone :) 

This term we are doing the Wonder Recycling program. You need to bring in your empty bread bags (from any brand) and put them in the special boxes in the office.  These then go and get recycled to be made into other things.

If we get 5 kg of bags, we will get sports equipment for our school to use.

Please bring as many as you can and also get your family and friends to help. This is great for our environment!!
