Here we go again! Another lockdown which means we have had to cancel St Kevin’s Feast Day Mass, our excursion and the Sacred Heart Mass. However, once we are back at school we may be able to combine these celebrations or move them to another date.

Just recently I was reading a post from the Jesuit resource webpage and this prayer caught my attention. I know that during lockdown, we feel a heightened sense of anxiety and stress so I thought it would be a nice prayer to share with you all.

Push My Buttons Prayer

Lord, it's likely that sometime today

someone will push my buttons

challenge my good will

misread my intentions

tick me off

try my patience

rattle my cage

judge me in haste

test my kindness

or do all of the above…

Give me the grace I'll need at such times

to respond with patience

to trust and accept

to listen carefully

to reach out in peace

to be fair and just

to anticipate goodness

in all my words and deeds…

I know this is a lot to ask, Lord,

but I need your help

to do for others

as I'd have them do for me...

Amen.

When is World Environment Day?

World Environment Day (WED) is an international day of environmental awareness and action that happens on 5th June each year. Started in 1974 by the United Nations, each year WED is hosted in a different country, with events focusing on a central theme. World Environment Day 2021 is being held in Pakistan, with 'ecosystem restoration' as the central theme.

What is the focus of World Environment Day in 2021?

REIMAGINE. RECREATE. RESTORE.

This year, we're starting from the ground up. We can't go back in time to when the world was a greener place, but what we can do is plant trees, clean our oceans and rivers, and make peace with nature that fuels our everyday lives.

Change your behaviour: the best way to do that at St Kevin’s is to support our Sustainability Captain, Ava’s initiative, and that is to save those bread bags and tags and send them to school to be recycled.

Every little bit helps, and every contribution matters, no matter how small.

Don't forget about the parish website which has fabulous articles and children’s activities. Also each week in the Family Page and Fun Worksheetssection of the website there are links to that weekend's Gospel activities. There are two gospel links: one for the juniors and one for the seniors. These activities can be downloaded and printed or just viewed. These worksheets will help the children understand the gospel message for that particular reading.
