With their Top 16 finishes, Amira, Niamh and Douglas have secured places in the Victorian team that will be competing at the National XC Championship's in Queensland on the 25th August.
Congratulations to our Year 8 Netball teams who both played displayed their fantastic skills and teamwork at the Divisional Competition on Wednesday. Our Northcote A team became the Divisional Winners after easily defeating all teams in the competition. In each match both of our teams worked well keeping our goalies very busy throughout the day. Overall our A team scored 136 goals in 6 games for the day and our B team scored 102. The only loss for the B team was against our A team. A big thank to our wonderful Student Coaches Grace Foley and Sophie Obst who ran many training sessions, selected the teams and Coached on Competition day. Our A team now moves through to the Regional Competition which is next term on August 15.
It is difficult to imagine a team walking away from a day of competitive fixtures in better stead after a highly successful competitive display by the Year 8 Boys Soccer team.
Over three games, the team were undefeated and impenetrable, winning by a combined score of 9-0. Fierce and dynamic in attack, the team matched this offensive vigour with steel and determination in defence. Despite blustery winds and muddy pitches, the boys were skilful and strong, often dominating their opposition with a possession-based style of play. The boys started the round robin competition with a 2-0 victory over close rivals Thornbury.
Encouraged by this result, it was followed by comprehensive wins of 3-0 over Reservoir and 4-0 over William Ruthven. The team now looks forward, as they move onto the next round of competitions in Term 3.

Thank you to our student coaches – Eamon Coates, Liam Rooms, Sean Moorehead and Jordan Katsouranis who helped out at many training sessions, team selections, coaching and umpiring on competition day.
