Year 11 Media students filming at the Regional Leadership Conference
On June 13th two of Alora Young’s Year 11 Media students volunteered to come in on their day off to shoot promotional footage of the Regional Leadership Conference, attended by over 600 leaders from across the region, at the invitation of the Department of Education and Training.
Many of these leaders had the honour of being interviewed by Eliza Sparvell and Lucinda Breen and given the opportunity to reflect on their time at the conference, including our very own Principal Sue Harrap.
It was such a pleasure to supervise these students engaging in high level professional production work for such a large organisation.
Also early in the term students participated in the production of season 2 of “Social Media Me” an educational series regarding social media usage, online bullying and positive digital citizenship.
Many of our students were recruited as both cast and crew and gained valuable experience working with an external film crew on such an important topic. Many thanks to Greta Bernard, Eva Massey, Sarah Kadijk, Lucy Clynes, Angus Kelly, Neo Diamond, Alanah Namor, Molly Uwland, Zoe Anastasiou and Holly Gilmour.
Keep an eye out for the series on ABC ME which will be broadcast in July.
