FOUNDATION - AROUND THE TRAPS

Diana Rinaldi

Literacy

This week our shared text is Farmer Duck. A wonderful story about a duck who had bad luck living with a lazy farmer! We are focusing on the letter f and the word family ar as in car. This week we are working on a character profile, story map and Venn diagram comparing Farmer Duck and Rosie’s Walk.

Here are just some of the fantastic examples from last weeks patterned writing from Mrs Wishy Washy…

“Oh lovely fish,” said the shark, and she chomped on it.

Finn

“Oh lovely plants,” said the dinosaur, and she chomped it.

Joe

“Oh lovely vine,” said the monkey, and he swung on it.

Aidan

“Oh lovely water,” said the dolphin, and she swam in it.

Estelle

“Oh lovely grass,” said the horse, and she ran in it.

Frankie

“Oh lovely water,” said the beaver, and she drank it.

Maggie

“Oh lovely nest,” said the bird, and she sat in it.

Maths

In maths this week we are continuing our practice of counting. We are playing different warm-up games to help with counting. Students have been sequencing numbers, identifying the smallest and the largest number and the quantity of each number.

RE (Religious Education)

Foundation has continued learning about what involves being a follower of Jesus. We listened to the story of Zaccheus and Jesus. Jesus became friends with Zaccheus even though nobody liked him. Jesus wants us to be friends with everyone.
