03V - AROUND THE TRAPS

Literacy

We have continued to work on our persuasive speeches based on a Volunteering organisation students have chosen. Students have planned out their reasons and found evidence for each and planned to use different persuasive devices to make their speech more compelling. This week we will use our plans to write our speeches. We have also spent some time focusing on apostrophes this week and the different ways we use them (contractions and to show possessiveness).

Maths

Students have continued to investigate angles, their size in relation to a right angle and using our knowledge of different angles to make an informed estimate of each angle’s degrees.

Inquiry

Students are almost ready to present their presentations on their chosen explorer. The final touches will be happening this week, with students adding a quiz to test their audience’s understanding after listening to their presentation and adding any final research in.

RE

This week we read a parable from the Bible, ‘The Prodigal Son’. In this parable, Jesus teaches us about the importance of forgiveness and how this links with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Good luck and congratulations to all those completing their Sacrament of Reconciliation tonight.
