Focus on Learning

Stage 2 Robyn Wilson

We have had a busy few weeks in Stage 2. Wow what a way to start the term.

The Athletics Carnival was amazing. Such a beautiful day and the students were all so excited. See below.

Mathematics

In Mathematics we have been looking at division which has followed on nicely from the multiplication that we did last term. The students have been excited about knowing their times tables so now they are applying that knowledge again.

Dani loving doing division
Sienna and Hyden using the counters to prove their answer,
Hendrix
Haydens bookwork
Delia using arrays in division
Oliver practicing his multiplication to prove a division answer.

English

In writing this Term we are learning about persuasive texts. The students have been designing a doughnut for a pretend competition to see who can create and persuade us who has the best doughnut creation. We have had lots of fun. The first activity to get them excited about the task was: the students were given a doughnut and in pairs they had to convince the class that they had the best doughnut. See below some photos.

Then they had to create their own doughnut. Below is them working on Google Slides  to create their doughnut.

This is what the finished product looked like.
