This is an example of some of the work completed during Term 2 STEM Classes.

Physical Education

Yesterday we had our Interschool Athletics carnival at Coburg Athletics Track. We had lots of fun and some great competition. A number of our students have qualified for the next round of Regional Finals.

I have attached some pictures and a couple of videos which show how close our winning margins were in two of the boys relays.

Grade 2 MSO Incursion

Earlier this month we were lucky enough to be visited by 2 members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. What’s better is that they happen to be the parents of our very own Harriet and Benjamin.

The Grade 2s have been learning about the orchestra this term and Abbey and Richard graciously volunteered their time to visit the school and run an incursion for us on what life is like to be in the brass section of the MSO.

Both Abbey, who plays the French horn and Richard who plays the trombone, shared with us the love for their instruments, their experience with playing in orchestras, concert and brass bands, the music and composers that inspire them and what it takes to play at their level (I’ll give you a clue, it starts with practice, a lot of practice).

We heard them play some solos and duets together and they answered as many questions as the grade 2s could throw at them.

Thanks again Richard and Abbey, we learned so much and hope you’ll visit us again soon!
