WELCOME BACK!

T3 2023

Welcome back to Term 3

Term 3 is always a busy term with lots of exciting events. Please check the Fridge Calendar that was sent home last week and keep an eye on your child’s class social communication channels eg. Facebook or SeeSaw for up coming events!

Welcome and Farewells

Welcome to Ms Rachael Esposito (photo) who is replacing Ms Woods in our Year 4/5 class. Ms Esposito is looking forward to getting to know our children and families. Drop in and say hi when you have a chance if your child is in her class.

Phoebe Lekkas who has been our Aboriginal Education Worker for the past 2 terms has won a permanent job at Hamilton Secondary School. We wish Phoebe the best and are currently negotiating to backfill this position.

Positive Behaviour for Learning Project

Our school is fortunate to be part of a 3 year project which is supporting us to review our behaviour education approach in line with our school values.

PBL provides schools with a process for teaching social and behavioural skills and helps them to develop a positive, proactive, and systematic approach based on school data.

During our last student-free training day, staff discussed our current school values and how they can be combined to form 3-4 overarching High Expectation Behaviours. We realized that there was a lot of overlap between the values and our behaviour expectations when we began to break them down into specific behaviours.

For example, having the expectation that ‘we are Respectful’ aligns closely with our values of Good Manners, Friendliness, Tolerance and Compassion.

We will continue to refine these and they will become a common language that we use linked with our School values.

We will also work with our students to seek their feedback and would love to chat with you if you would like to give your feedback and perspective.
