War On Waste.... 

After watching WarOnWaste season 3 episode 2 I was horrified at the amount of waste that is generated in the fashion industry. The ABC program focused on how we throw away 10kg of clothing per person in Australia, that’s a huge 227 million kilograms of clothing going to landfill per year in Australia alone…60% of our clothing is synthetic which means it is made of plastic…plastic is made of oil, so we are literally throwing 18,000 litres of oil into landfill every hour according to the program.

The War on Waste would be a great one to sit and watch together as a family . Due to its later time slot for some families ( 8.30 pm) I suggest watching it on iview. 

The children in year 3/4  have been learning about Reduce, Reuse, recycle, refuse and repair. And were very keen to show off their new skill of darning holes in socks.
