Stage 3 News

A big thank you to Stage 3 students who shared their homework projects with us. The quality and range of projects was excellent, they included cardboard projects to PowerPoints, interviews, artwork and quizzes.  We all learnt new content from the wide range of chosen topics.  All Students improved their presentation skills which included eye-contact and voice projection.  Students received positive feedback as well as an area that needed improving next time.  Congratulations Stage 3.

While Mrs Townsend has been practising hard for ACOS, Mrs Bull and the boys have been studying and learning about ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ in Visual Arts.  Included are photo’s of artwork created and inspired by this famous artist, engineer, scientist and architect. Students practised sketching like Leonardo did in his note pad, as well as writing backwards (Leonardo wrote backwards as he was left-handed and he would smudge his work).  Students also studied the Mona Lisa and recreated this artwork. The students did a great job.

With ‘An Evening with ACOS’ fast approaching, we have hit the ground running, practising our dance moves regularly so that we can shine on the ASC stage. The teachers in Stage 2 and 3 have been impressed with the children’s commitment and positive attitude towards this activity.  It has been pleasing to observe Stage 3 being positive role models during our practises with Stage 2.  It’s only a week away now so please keep an eye on Compass for any notifications.  Underneath are a few pictures from our preparation.

Lastly, we would like to remind parents that we have our dress rehearsal this Thursday which will allow us to practise our ‘moves’ in full costume. This includes:

Boys

Full school uniform:

Long black pants with no logos on them

Long sleeve white shirt with collar

Black shoes

Black bow tie (school will provide)

Girls

Long plain black tights (no toes in them)

Plain white SHORT SLEEVE cotton T-shirt (Mrs T. will bring these)

Blue sash (school with provide)

Thank you to parents and carers who have organised white t-shirts and ensured that the costumes are ready-to-go.
