Sacrament of Confirmation

Congratulations to Louisa for celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation last Sunday. Father Manny and Bishop Greg Bennet led us in a beautiful celebration. 

The Sacrament of Confirmation confirms the gift of the Holy Spirit which was given at Baptism. 

In the Bible, the sending of the Holy Spirit is found in Acts 2:1-13. This is called the Pentecost event.

The Gifts of the Spirit (wisdom, understanding, right judgment/counsel, courage/fortitude, knowledge, reverence/piety, wonder and awe/fear of the Lord) are found in Scripture.

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. These Fruits are the Gifts in action.
