Vocational Education and Training (VET)

The highlight for this term for our VET students was the opportunity to engage in workplace learning in their industry of choice. Students were well prepared by their teachers for the week long Work Placement, with the outcomes for the experience very positive.

Construction students have nearly finished their skillion roofed Dog Kennel group project which has been a great build. Well developed construction techniques and skills of working as an effective member of a team was evident in the process.

The Manufacturing and Engineering class has been engaged in their tool chest project. These will start to be spray painted and fitted off this week so they are fished by the end of the year. The learning progression throughout the course has been obvious with this class as the projects they have undertaken have been of a very high quality.

Hospitality students are finishing off their appetizers and salad unit of work which include providing a well received lunch service to College staff. Students now focus on their Christmas cooking including providing Micah House with shortbread and rocky road treats.
