Basketball

The John Vrolyks Shield was run at Wagga Christian College over 3 weeks during Term 4. 

Congratulations to our Opens Boys Basketball Team who were successful in taking out the CWWHSSA Competition for the third year in a row. Mater Dei won in a tight game against The Riverina Anglican College 18-15.

The Girls gave it their all and improved each game, playing a nerve wracking semi-final to beat Kildare Catholic College by a point in extra time to make it to the Grand Final. 

The Grand Final went goal for goal throughout the game, until the very end when foul trouble meant the loss of a key player meaning Kooringal High School went to the basket for shots. 

Congratulations to Kooringal High School who won by 5 points and congratulations to Mater Dei who fought to the end and played with determination and excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition.
