Welcome to the library

Classes have begun to use the library on a regular basis and by the time you read this the first four Prep/1 classes will have visited too. It's great to catch up with them and field the terrific questions like "Is fiction true?" and "Do you enjoy your job?"

Full details about the library are contained in the attached brochure. Suffice to say we have about 4,500 books and the collection is being constantly refreshed with new titles every month. I am currently processing new Spanish titles and these should be available in a few weeks. 

The next Library News will include a list of new titles.

Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions the library cannot currently open at lunch time and after school but fingers-crossed this will soon change.

Library Leaders

This year's Library Leaders are Lucy, Jaiden and Esther from the 4/5/6 grades and they share the duties over three days. It's great to have their help and company.

Scholastic Book Club

Scholastic Publishing distribute 8 issues of their book club a year (twice a term). The catalogues are sent home with students and then you can order online (only). 20% of the total sales of each issue is credited to the school library for future purchases.  

Issue 1 was distributed to Grade 2/3 and 4/5/6 only and orders are due by Friday, February 19. There were good reasons for omitting the P/1 from this first issue and I won't bore you with the details. All grades will receive the next issue together with instructions for first time users.
