No Way to Bullying

Please read the following thank you letter received from the organisers National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence

Thank you St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Bulli!

Your staff, students and school community joined a record 6276 schools across Australia for the 2021 National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) last Friday.

Thank you for your school's commitment to the Bullying. No Way! message. Over the last 11 years, we acknowledge the hard work of schools in driving positive action on the NDA, and all year round. Your role in supporting students to foster values of kindness and respect is integral to safe and supportive school environments. Millions of students, staff and school community members across the nation shared their bullying prevention strategies and raised awareness among their school communities.

These kind words were sent by Bullying. No Way!, on behalf of the national Safe and Supportive School Communities (SSSC) Working Group, a joint initiative of Australia's government, Catholic and independent education.

Throughout last week our students continued to raise awareness about bullying and its prevention. During our assembly students displayed their posters, chatterboxes, hands, bracelets and words about the importance of stamping out bullying not only in our school and community but across Australia.

Parent/Carer Survey

We are working with the Catholic Education Office to give every family the opportunity to provide feedback on your school experience and tell us how you think we can best support your child’s faith, learning and wellbeing, and the sense of community at our school.

By completing this short 10-15 minute survey, you’ll not only help shape the future of our school and Catholic schools across the diocese, you’ll also be in the running to win a pair of Apple AirPods Pro OR a $250 JB HI-FI voucher.

The survey will be open until Friday 9 April 2021. You will need to provide an email address to be eligible for the prize, but please be assured your responses will remain entirely anonymous.

Your feedback and ideas will help our school continue to improve, so your child and their peers have every opportunity to reach their potential in a safe, supportive and faith-filled environment.

Later in Term 2, there will be opportunities to participate in follow-up discussions in person and online with other parents and carers, where you can provide further input into the topics covered in the survey. If you would like to take part in one of these discussions, please be sure to indicate your interest at the end of the survey.

Please don’t let this opportunity to have your say pass you by. We are seeking your open and honest feedback, because the only way we can continue to make our school the best place to learn and grow is by listening to the voices of our school community.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
