Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

I recently read this wonderful reflection in our Diocesan gateway news I thought I would share with you this week.

Letting Go and Letting God

Let Go is a term that we throw out there at different times either to ourselves or to others. It sounds somewhat easy and yet at times, it can be incredibly challenging.

Letting go can be hard because we are often challenged by the various needs that we have...

  • a need for perfection
  • a need to be in control
  • the need to be right
  • the need or desire for things to be different
  • the need to get one more thing done

One way in which we deal with these stresses or concerns is by playing the situation over and over in our minds. Hoping, perhaps, that by going over it or worrying about it that something might change.

Where does letting go fit in? Letting go comes into play when we’ve done everything within our power and things still don’t turn out the way we had hoped...

  • a situation
  • a job interview
  • a conversation
  • a relationship
  • an event
  • a process of healing

In these moments God invites us to draw near, just as we are.

They are really crucial moments in Christian life and involves a huge amount of humility and trust. We are acknowledging that we are not in control. We hand things over trusting that God’s grace will work in us or the situation that’s concerning us. “What first comes to your heart and soul must be a yes instead of a no, trust instead of resistance. When you can lead with yes and allow yourself to see God in all moments, you’ll recognise that nothing is ever wasted.” (The Divine Dance: The Trinity and Your Transformation, Richard Rohr)

Kindergarten Enrolments 2022

Thank you to all parents who have submitted a Kindergarten Enrolment for 2022.  Kindergarten interviews will take place on Saturday 22 May.

Information on how to book your child's Kindergarten Interviews have now been emailed. If you did not receive this email please contact the school office immediately.

Enrolments are still open and forms are available from the school office or through our school website

Online interview bookings close on Tuesday 18 May at 3pm.

Winter School Uniform

Students will begin wearing the winter uniform from this Monday 10 May (after Mother's Day).  Parents may use their discretion in the 2 weeks following the change-over date.

Please note that the sports jacket should only be worn with the sports uniform except for exceptionally cold days when it may be worn over the sloppy-joe.

The expectations for the school uniform are outlined in the School Handbook. You may also visit Lowes Schools Online.

Parking

I am very appreciative of the effort most parents take to park legally around the school and completely understand how difficult it is to find parking.

We have been made aware, however, that a number of parents are parking in the Bulli Anglican Church Car Park during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. I recently met with Rev Michael Williamson to discuss concerns we have regarding the safety of our students and their siblings, and the damage that is being caused due to the large number of vehicles using this car park daily.

As you are aware this car park is private property and it is available to the Anglican Church community during their weekly gatherings and weekend services.

I ask for your support by avoiding the use of this car park as an option.

Lunch-Time Activities

I am very excited to inform you that we are once again able to offer students the opportunity to be involved in lunchtime activities. These activities will be facilitated by our Year 6 Wellbeing Leadership Team under teacher supervision. The activities will focus on Mindfulness, Social/Emotional Health and Physical Health.

If your child would like to take part in one or more of these lunchtime activities during Term 2, please click on the link below and complete the form by Thursday 6 May 2021 indicating the focus week that would be of interest to your child. Please note that there is an expectation that your child will commit and attend their chosen focus, as these will be part of our lunchtime teacher supervision roster.

(PLEASE NOTE that your child will take part in lunch-time activities one day per week).
