Spotlight on our Sustainability collection 

The Library Team welcome all staff and students back for Term 2!

In line with the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the library and the Green Team have been developing a Sustainability collection for staff and student use. The collection lives in the library’s STEM corner and features an end bay created by Peter Murphy and the Design department with a quote from Greta Thunberg. (well worth a look!)  

The collection includes thought provoking material by Greta Thunberg, David Attenborough, Mary Robinson, Tim Flannery and more. There are titles which look at sustainable food practice, sustainable housing design, climate change, climate justice, species conservation, and environmental movements. The library also regularly receives donations of Habitat – the journal of the Australian Conservation Foundation, Zoo News and Australian Geographic which are housed in this area. 

We welcome suggestions for purchase for this growing collection.

Get to know our Periodical collection 

The library subscribes to several periodicals or magazines which are available for 1-week loans. We have Frankie; The Big Issue; Inside Sport; New Scientist; The Monthly; Quarterly Essay and Voiceworks.  These can all be found on the library catalogue with each record giving a brief summary of the contents of that issue. Periodicals are housed on the stand opposite the Careers Info in the quiet reading area in the library. Back issues are kept on the shelf below the stand.   

We encourage you to explore the collection to keep up with current events, enjoy contemporary fiction, artwork, and fashion, follow the latest sport, or explore scientific research. 

Opening hours reminder

The library is open 8.15am - 4pm Tuesday - Friday, and 8.15am -3.30pm on Monday and every second Wednesday (week A). We are open at recess and for the second half of lunchtime. We are only closed for the first 20 minutes of lunch. Any changes to opening hours due to special events will be advertised.
