Message from Keir

This Wednesday the school had its second of three review days. This day involved the review panel meeting with groups of teachers, students, parents and support staff. The panel was seeking information, insight and clarification around the thing and learning programs that takes place at our wonderful school. Our amazing team of student leaders were asked questions about their leadership roles, if they felt supported to and heard in the realisation of these roles, and if they believed that student leadership was valued at BNWPS. All of the panelists were extremely impressed with the maturity and confidence that our student leaders exhibited in their language, their actions and their thinking.  Next week we have our third day of the review where the panel begins to make recommendations about possible goals for the next strategic plan.

Each day that the panel has met, we have been served the most beautiful lunches, snacks and coffee from our amazing Sprout. Again, the panel was extremely impressed with not only the food (which was amazing!) but the community's commitment to growing such an amazing and supportive resource as Sprout and all of the work that it does to support our community.

On Tuesday evening, some wonderful parents and staff collected together for our education subcommittee meeting. At this meeting, we unpack areas of teaching and student learning that the community feels require further clarification. we dig deeply into data and look at school processes, innovations and approaches that support the learning and wellbeing needs of our students and we share our learning with the school community. Look out for some parent forums and newsletter article in the future. we are always happy to have new members on our education committee, so if you are interested, please drop off your name, number and email address to the office, or just turn up at our next meeting. We will make you very welcome!

And now for this week's writing prompt.

Today we focus on our senses. Take your writer's notebook outside, and make a list of all of the things you can hear, see, touch, smell and taste. Try not to sensor or modify your list - just jot it down as it comes to you. You may even like to draw instead of write, or even collect some artefacts and stick them into your book. Most importantly, sit with your notebook silently for ten minutes as you complete this entry.

Have a wonderful week everyone.
