A true story!
JORN'S MAGNIFICENT IMAGINATION
By CORAL VASS
Illustrations by NICKY JOHNSTON
This is based on the true story about Jorn Utzon.
Jorn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He had a great imagination, collecting inspiration and ideas in his travels from everything and everywhere around the world. One day he entered an international competition to design an iconic Australian landmark. Many people questioned his work and some disliked his designs but the judges said, 'It's magnificent!'
Jorn's legacy lives on in a number of countries for his great work, but his masterpiece of all is, The Sydney Opera House. Read, 'Jorn's Magnificent Imagination'! It is an easy to follow read with sketches and beautiful illustrations and lots of creativity and at the end you can follow Jorn's timeline. This book will impress all, young and old. This is a good one to have in your personal library collection or come borrow this new book from the BPS Library.
It is almost time to get all your books back to the libary.
We are aware that there are many overdue books that have been.....
-misplaced -lent to a friend
-eaten by your dog(!) -left in last year's classroom
-simply lost -and our personal favourite, "My Mum didn't put it in my Schoolbag!"
Mme Farfalla and Kelsey would like to see all of these books found and returned to the
library. This is especially important for Grade 6's or if you are not returning to BPS next year.
Some places to start your search are-:
-under your bed or desk -in Mum or Dad's car
-in your bookcase -at your grandparent's house
-in your bookbox or tub -in your classroom library
All BPS library books are marked with a BPS barcode on the backcover and a stamp.
If these overdue lost books cannot be found, a suitable replacement may need to be supplied
back to the library.
A good place to source these replacements may be Big W, the local Salvo's, Vinnies or Community Op shop. You may also choose to donate one from your own collection.
Thankyou and good Luck with your book search,
Mme Farfalla and Kelsey.
