Term 4 Information:

The final round for Term 4 sport will take place this Saturday 26 November, with five teams in the running for first place.  We wish our teams all the best for their final games and thank all students for the wonderful commitment and sportsmanship shown this term, all teams were a credit to Loreto.

This year we had many old scholars and parents who strengthened our sports program by giving up their time to coach and share their expertise with our students, a huge thank you to these individuals. Thank you also to the many people who have generously supported the co-curricular program this year, such as the students, coaches, teachers, and venue supervisors. Thank you also to our Loreto parents for supporting their children in so many ways and giving them the opportunity to participate in these sporting events.

Year 6 Self Defence

Over the past 5 weeks, Year 6 students have participated in a Kid Safe Self Defence course led by personnel from the Academy of Self Defence & Martial Arts. During these sessions, students have developed an appreciation of the need for awareness of their physical surroundings, and the importance of using their instincts to avoid putting themselves into situations where they feel their personal safety is at risk. They have been introduced to techniques and strategies they can use to “walk and talk” themselves out of danger, thus empowering them to have the confidence to deal with situations where they may feel their personal safety threatened.

Rowing Regatta Results

On 19 November Loreto Rowing competed at the November Westlake’s Regatta. All crews performed exceptionally well, and all girls and coaches were very proud of their achievements. Thankfully for the most part of the Regatta, the storms held off, however towards the end the girls were faced with some fierce winds which cancelled some of the last races. Some of the more prominent achievements are the first races of many of the girls, including two seniors and some of the juniors. We are proud to say the Women’s Eight and the Junior A quad won their respective races and came home with a medal. Overall, all crews enjoyed the first Regatta of the season and are very excited for more to come.
