2022 Bairnsdale Agricultural Show 

BSC Visual Art students excel!

We had an excellent representation of students Visual Art at the Annual Bairnsdale Show this year. There were several ‘Highly Commended’ awards received for the following students, Ayrton of Year 7 for his tonal drawing of a dingo, and Sahnae  of 8N for her linocut of dog. Blue ribbon ‘First Place’ awards were given to Billie-Ella of Year 8 for her tonal drawing of trees in an African landscape and Alex Wong’s of Year 8 linocut of a bird.  Melissa Caire of Year 7 received a Red ribbon ‘Second Place’ for her tonal drawing of cat eyes. 

Melissa’s work also caught the attention of many show-goers which earnt her the annual Margaret Alexander’s ‘People’s Choice’ Award for 2022. Melissa’s name will be engraved on the annual trophy and it will be in her keeping until the 2023 awardee receives the same honour. Congratulations to all students who exhibited as it was noted that the standard of work was of a very high calibre. Fantastic effort.
