EARLY YEARS AWARDS
As mentioned last week, our Prep team was heading off to the Early Years Awards function on Wednesday night. The team (along with the Buninyong kinder team) had been nominated for an award recognising effort to support the transition of students from Buninyong Kinder to Buninyong PS.
Unfortunately we didn’t take out the award, but regardless, well done to Sandra Davie, Lauren Riordon, Ana Anderson, Paula Dekok and Bec Wood, along with Emma, Jess and Louise from the kinder for the nomination. Their efforts to continue this work is much appreciated.
Our Prep team and the kinder team are pictured below with the minister for education, Natalie Hutchins.
GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY
Don’t forget to get your invites out to grandparents or special friends for next Friday. No doubt this event will be popular, and we don’t want anyone to miss out.
Our visitors on the day will be treated to a morning tea. If you’re able to help out by providing morning tea or helping to serve, please let us know by clicking on this link and filling in a few details.

PUPIL FREE DAY ON MONDAY NOVEMBER 21
All state schools in Victoria were required to nominate an additional pupil free day to be taken somewhere in semester 2. For us, that is next Monday, November 21. Staff will be working onsite on this day and attending to the range of tasks that pressing at this stage of the year. Base 1270 will be operating on this day for those that require care for their children.
ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH (EBT)
Good luck to students, staff and parents travelling to Maryborough to participate in EBT later this week. It’s great to see the event back after a lay off due to covid and there will be thousands of people in town for the event.
Excitement is building as the event draws closer and we know this will be an experience the kids won’t forget. Thanks in advance to those that have been working away in the background (staff, parents and extended family members) to prepare the EBT bikes and the students and to all that will be helping out in Maryborough from Thursday to Saturday.
