2022 Library Team

Thank you to the 2022 Library Team students for their work in the Library throughout Term 2 - happy holidays and happy reading!

'Pawsome Readers' Competition

Over the upcoming holidays I'm sure your pets will enjoy having you home for some extra 'pawsome' time together so why not enter our 'Pawsome Readers Competition' and win them a prize.

Take a themed photo of your pet "reading" a book and include a short review (up to 50 words) of your pets' thoughts on the book - email both your photo and 'pet review' to Mrs Swannell by Thursday 14 July - lswannell@mesc.vic.edu.au

Two winners and their pets will each receive a prize - announced on Friday 15th July.

Read 'Buddy's' review of The Bedtime Story Book - "The Bedtime Story Book' is the ulti-muttly paw-fect book for going to bed.  I don't know 'howl' I'll ever live without it! I know that I will never fur-get about this book! Whenever I have a 'ruff' day I always rest in bed and read this book!

Year 7 Chess Competition

Congratulations to our first Year 7 Chess Champion - Jordan who played a fantastic game in the Grand Final against Taj.  It's been great to see the enthusiasm for chess and the numbers are growing each day in the Library.  In Term 3 we will be running more chess competitions for other year levels too, so watch out for the sign-up sheets and get some practice in over the holidays!

'Mr Munchy' Paper Recycling

A huge "thank you" to Brigitte P (Year 11 VCAL) for creating our 'Mr Munchy : the paper munching monster'.  Brigitte has worked hard throughout the term to create this from recycled materials and it's a great addition to the Library.

Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge 2022

The 2022 Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) students  are enjoying the challenge it offers them and have read a total of 148 books so far.  It's great to see them encouraging each other, sharing books they have enjoyed with reviews, talking about their favourites and selecting from the newly arrived titles for their holiday reading.

The challenge finishes on 2nd September and all students who complete it will attend a special morning tea to celebrate.

Book Reviews

A Tale of Witchcraft by Chris Colfer

Lililka G, Year 7

A thrilling fantasy book with a fairy as the main character. It is intriguing all though the book and captures the readers attention quickly. It also has shocking plot twists. Love the series. Chris Colfer's books are amazing!

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

Olivia H, Year 8

An incredible novel that truly highlights mortality and how fragile life is, but also that every moment should be lived like your last. It is a unique story that is very well written and will make you think about what life is really about.

A Straight Line to My Heart by Bill Condon

Mia J, Year 7

Thank you Lilika, Olivia and Mia for your great reviews (completed as part of the VPRC) - please continue to add your own reviews to our Library catalogue for others to see and enjoy.
